What to buy in Jakarta? Lulur Scrubs, Jamu (if you're into that kind of thing, I'm not too sure where to find it though, if you know or can recommend any do share), Indomee and Cloth/Lace.

Where to eat in Jakarta? Lots of food everywhere in Jakarta, but seriously, those two restaurants I listed in the itinerary on the first day has really good food.

Sate Khas Senayan is good for their Sate of course, and everything else we tried was equally delicious: the Mi Soto, a rice dish with Paru (I forgot the name), and salted egg king prawns. The place had a nice ambience to it as it was furnished in traditional decor coupled with modern simplicity.

Potato head is a sophisticated bistro and bar in Jakarta. The outdoor and indoor (ground and mezzanine-to my amusement!) sitting areas are uniquely designed to look like a vintage industrial setting, yet ironically the place gives a bit of a contemporary feel. They serve international cuisine, a nice mix of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pastas and meats.

Where to shop in Jakarta? Malls malls and more malls, their malls are full of international as well as designer brands. For kain (cloth/traditional clothes) shopping, there is Tanah Abang. But beware there are many blocks. I had walked the most part of the blocks and scanned through every floor, and found it hard to navigate my way. I would totally scrap ideas of going to the old blocks, and just head to the newly renovated mall section.
Jakarta wasn't a shopping trip for me so I didn't really buy anything. I did buy three tops at Mangga Dua though, for about RM40/S$20 each.

Lion King the Musical

Lion King the Musical opened in Singapore in March 2011. The Disney musical that premiered at Marina Bay Sands Theater, caused a sensation in not only in Singapore but in the Southeast Asian region. Though I bought tickets at a premium price as most seats were booked out, I left the show feeling like I could do with a second round. It was the best I have watched so far, in terms of music, characters, costumes, backdrop and humour. From one scene to another, the actors and props moved seamlessly falling beautifully into place. The musical was so brilliantly produced that it managed to keep me engaged and enthralled the entire two hours or so. Rating (5/5)

WICKED opened in Singapore at the Grand Theater, Marina Bay Sands in December 2011. It tells the story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good in the Land of Oz (before the times of Dorothy with the red shoes, her dog and the yellow brick road).

I musn't lie, I did not enjoy it half as much as I did Lion King. I reckon it might be because our seats for Wicked were not as favourable, at the back and more elevated. (So, if you have not caught it and you are planning to, do not choose the S$98 odd seats). The show was interesting in a sense it cured curiosity of the untold story of the Wicked witch. I particularly enjoyed the songs they sang during the movie, catchy indeed. Rating (3/5).

Planning a 5D4N Trip to Taiwan yourself

Want to take a break and go for a holiday in Taiwan? Try budget airlines (i.e Airasia and Jetstar) or look out for good deals available from the full service airlines (i.e Singapore Airlines)

Where best to stay? I highly recommend the hotel me and my friends stayed at, City Inn. It was truly a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and accomodating and the rooms were clean, modern, new and well worth the price.

What to do in Taiwan? Hit the night markets for good food and shopping. My favourites are Shihlin Night Market for food (second is Raohe Night Market), and ShiDa for shopping (although Wu Fen Pu is a very large fashion avenue spanning 1 km radius of jam-packed tiny shops in a rats maze, I found more quality buys at ShiDa Market)

Sightseeing is a must. Out of all the places I visited, I liked Jiu fen the most for scenery and for the lanterns at night. When we were there we chartered taxis to take us around sightseeing and to send us back to Taipei city. It was far more convenient and cheaper when travelling in a group.

Here's the thing, I lost my cellphone along with all the pictures of my hearty breakfast here so you have to settle with this photo of drinks I had with some friends. Don't worry though, I assure you the smart people over at Wild honey knows that breakfast is a meal for champions and is best served all-day.

Savoury options

I've tried their European (their version of Eggs Benedict. Two perfectly poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms and prosciutto on toasted homemade brioche and hollandaise sauce- This is what's on the menu, but I vaguely remember them saying it comes with bacon...so you have to let them know if you can't take pork) and their Italian (An open faced omelette with sliced vine ripened tomatoes, fontina cheese and baby spinach).

I personally prefer the European!

Sweet options

I've sampled their Belgian (Thick fluffy waffles served with coconut cream, grilled mango, blueberries and toasted coconut) and Canadian (A stack of classic pancakes served with wild berry and hibiscus compote, Canadian maple syrup and minus bacon). I think I would order the Belgian again definitely as the grilled mango, coconut and blueberries was an interesting marriage of flavours.

The thing about this place is that you will be spoilt for choice! I do like their coffee here, better than the juices *winks*, I really do think so. Either that or I just love coffee in general. If you're already thinking of dropping by, do note that this place is abit pricey. The bill could easily come up to SGD75 for two persons.

This cafe is a hidden gem at 66 Kampong Bugis, near Kallang area. I think Lavender MRT on might be nearest, as I have had friends who have walked from there. Otherwise, take a taxi, and bank on catching one from there from alighting customers. I particularly like the coffee here! No big wonder as this cafe is owned by Papa Palheta Coffee (independent coffee boutique at 140 Bukit Timah Rd- 10% of proceeds go to charity, it's all for a good cause so no harm popping by). They have good sandwiches here too, with good bread. I've only tried their chocolate cake and it's not too bad either. Besides cakes and sandwiches they have eggs and an assortment of cookies/biscotti. They always run out of food (and seats) by 11am though, I find, so it's best to come early.

I like the breakfast here, simple and abit more on the affordable end, compared to the likes of Wildhoney and PS Cafe. I tried the Poached eggs with creamed corn, portobello and sourdough bread and enjoyed it. It actually exceeded expectations, thumbs up. The bf had salmon and scrambled eggs with sourdough. He liked it fairly well, but salmon he said was average.

The best part about the place is the view! Next time round I will give marmalade pantry a try.

My most favourite fish curry haunt would be this small restaurant in Gohtong Jaya. It is on the way up to Genting Highlands, so I would recommend anyone driving up to stop along the way to savour the flavourful curry here. It is situated along a row of shops just before Sri Malaysia Genting. The fish curry is a must, and usually I'd have it with breads, like naan/chapati and most often thosai. You may order rice and other condiments or vegetable dishes too! If you like the curry here, give the Ratha instant curry powders a try too.This place opened in 1997, and is the second branch opened after the original Raub branch, in my kampung.

Yamano Doronko Hair Pack

I've bought this japanese hair treatment earlier last year for about SGD68 from a hair exhibition at Vivocity. A lady recommended it over Kerastase and Redken hair treatments, saying that its organic hence better for the hair. I think the active ingredient would be Doronko. I had used it once a week and it worked well on my hair, kept my ends moisturized. It lasted for about 3 months? Its abit thick in substance, not as easy to apply though.

What every girl should bring for a Girl's Night Out.

After being exposed to New York's night scene, here's a list of things I always bring for a late night out. Bringing a big handbag may be convenient, but it's truly a hassle if you're trying to dance and you either 1) dont coat check your bag or 2) dont have a boyfriend to carry it for you. So, your only option is to bring either a sling bag or a smaller bag that doesn't constrict your movements.

Here are my top 8 things I'd bring before I go out:

1. Foldable Ballet flats. (Dr. Scholl's fast flats) They are simple and convenient. Not only that, it comes with a small gold purse that the flats can fit in, so that it wont dirty the inside of your handbag or so that you can put it around your wrist.

2. Deodorant (because you never know when you might meet someone that you're thinking about getting closer to) I usually avoid cream deodorant, just because it might leave white residues or stain my outfit, so I'll go for the clear gel kind of deodorant.

3. Perfume (if you've got limited space, I'd recommend to bring those free testers that come in tiny tube sprays.)

4. A bag which can be folded and can fit your killer FM heels (anything starting from a plastic bag would work) So after a tiring day of walking in your heels you can just switch to the flats and carry your heels around in a bag.

5. Hair tie (in case your hair is in the way or if one of your girls is busy puking)

6. If you can squeeze in a cardigan, consider bringing one. Just in case it gets cold, or to avoid unwanted attention.

7. Bring cash (that way you tend to not overspend)

8. A cheek stain for touch ups, which can also be used as a lipstain. I love 2 in 1s!

Staying in a different country isn't easy when your family isn't with you.
My mom is in LA right now for work, and I couldn't go there to see her because the flight ticket prices were crazy and insane. Being so close yet so far. God, I miss her :(

But on a brighter note, today the framily and I went to south haven. Michigan's lake is huge... So this is our version of the beach. The sun is up, and its perfect for taning, not that I need It though. But the heat is a good change from the blistering cold winter or michigan.

Situated opposite Tawakal Hospital in Setapak, this restaurant is an old time favourite of many. It is perfect for satiating hunger and little cravings as their menu of Malaysian delicaciea is extensive and dynamic throughout the day.

Go there for Nasi Lemak or Roti Canai in the morning for breakfast, or Laksa (a must-try!) for lunch, kuih-muih (e.g goreng pisang, ubi with shaved coconut) for tea and Nasi Campur (mixed rice) for dinner.

The camera on my phone is pretty shitty, but here are a couple of pictures of this new Mexican Restaurant in Kalamazoo called Los Amigos. I have always been hesitant of going here just because on the outside, the building looks isolated and it is really covered. Kind of looked dodgy for a bit. But don't let that fool you, looks can be deceiving. B and I decided to be adventurous and check it out, and we've regretted having waited so long to eat this place. Inside, it was a whole different environment, the service was extremely friendly. Big portions of food at an affordable price, it tasted really yummy too. Definitely worth the ka-chings. I had the fajita quesadilla and he had the "special dinner" which came with a taco, chalupa, tiny burritos and a other mexican delicacies. To top it all off i had the "fried ice cream" which for the record is nothing like the fried ice cream in Malaysia. This one instead had, what i think is frozen soft serve vanilla ice cream cover in cornflakes, whipped cream, honey and cinnamon.

Either way I felt like it was a great experience to try, i've heard my mexican friends raving about this place. Oh, and another plus is that football (or soccer for Americans) is played on tv all the time in there. You can literally hear the whole restaurant scream "GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL"

I have always wanted to try this Greek fusion restaurant, and I finally did with my friend Sue Yenn for lunch. Its pretty homey, but I felt that there were more American food rather than Greek. Of course, you have your Gyros which I learnt was pronounced as "yee-roo", Moussaka, Greek Baklava and other Greek food, but nothing much. I was disappointed though that there was no flaming Saganaki, which is basically pan-seared cheese with lemon, it's usually eaten with fresh bread.

oh well, you cant get everything right? I'd definitely go back to have a meal once in a while, but I wouldnt recommend it if you're looking for some serious Greek food.

For one I love love love libraries in Singapore, they make borrowing books hassle free and the library experience one to remember.
I frequent the Bishan library more often of late as I was studying for my accounting paper. Every time I'm there I sit at Cafe Galilee, so I can enjoy a cuppa and have hearty meals whilst taking on the challenge of going through my voluminous textbook.

I bought a coffee card for S$20.80, which I can use to redeem 10 cups of coffee. They have sandwiches there for around $4 and pasta for about $7? Not too bad *burps*

A friend recommended this place to us. When we went, we ordered two salads and two drinks. The bill came up to S$ 30+, which wee bit pricey. I had avocado and grape chicken salad. It was quite good. You can choose to make your own salad for under 10 dollars, but if you start adding the premium bits, like chicken or beef, then be prepared to pay another S$2-3.

Last Sunday I went to a cafe at Marina @ Keppel Bay for brunch. Menu was extensive, the regular breakfast items like american breakfast, eggs benedict,pancakes and also brunch/lunch items like pasta and soups. There's coffee, tea, juices, milkshakes to choose from.
We had eggs benedict, ultimate breakfast (I think), basket of breads with butter & jam, coffee and iced coffee float...all for about almost SGD80 maybe?
Just being there by the bay made my Sunday.

This place is so neat! It has a wide range of cutesy stationery, I couldn't resist getting myself a 12digit calculator, an owl shaped lolly eraser and a pack of colourful scented highlighters. I found it slightly pricey though, as the bill came up to almost SGD25+. They had this machine where you can choose skins for ipods, blackberries and other gadgets, which I thought was cool.

Urban Decay Frenzy: What to Buy

As Izzy has blogged before, the eyeshadow primers are staple in every girl's make up bag. Once you can afford this baby, get it. But, if you're simple with your eye make-up having just lining your eyes at most, then this would be an unnecessary splurge.

I have one of the primers and it's a miraculous! I love it. One can opt for a tinted one so they can do without putting eyeshadow and still have a pretty sheen on their lids up to the brow bone.

Along with the potion I got the 24/7 Jackpot, which is a set of, as described in their website, "nine travel-size shades of Urban Decay's award-winning 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils plus one FULL SIZE pencil in Zero (our award-winning Black)". I've only used the turquoise, gold, purple, dark blue and of course black though. The good thing about these liners are that they are creamy and easy to glide-on. If you have your primer on, the eyeliners will give you very vibrant colours, hence they work very well as eyeshadows too! It is to note however, that you have to exercise care when using the black liner as the cap is different (in silver), and it doesn't hold too well, so it keeps coming off, resulting in constant beheading of the tip of my pencil.

What is on my ultimate make up wishlist is the NAKED Palette! *Jumps up and down up and down* Sephora in Singapore will tell you that they sell out within hours of making it to the store. Chances are slim that you will be lucky enough to get your grubby hands on these as even the make-up artists in Sephora will be eyeing them. Looks kapawsome.

Sephora will be coming soon to KL, in front of Starhill Gallery. I reckon sometime this year, in 2011.

Sephoras' in Singapore are located at Takashimaya (B1), ION Orchard (L1), Great World City (L1), Marina Bay Sands (B2).

M.O.D.A (Merchandising Opportunities Design Association) holds a fashion show, almost every fall and spring semester. For 3 months, talented student designers start making around 3-5 garments to show, and other students (like me) would audition to model it out for them.

For Spring 2011, M.O.D.A held a fashion show called the "Venetian Carnival" at the Radisson Plaza Hotel and Suites in downtown Kalamazoo.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Southwest Michigan affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.

I was really glad to be a part of it, definitely a different experience. Waking up at 8 am to do hair and make up, and waiting long hours, making new friends. It was amazing. yup yup yup.

I think this is where the problems come that separate believers in God and non-believers. If you worship another human, then basically you are saying that you are inferior to him or her. You are a human and so is the other person, so no way he or she is better than you and vice versa. If you worship an animal, do I need to explain more? Why would you want to worship some creature lower than you? it is mind boggling.

I don't BLINDLY believe in a God, I believe in logic and critical reasoning, and I realized that "Not even a single proof exists that proves that God doesn't exist." Ya i said it, Not a single proof exists that proves otherwise. Everything ends up pointing to a God.

Now here is something logical for all the Atheists or anyone that doubts there is a God or a Creator. Actually some Atheists do believe in some kind of Universal Spirit, so that is good. There are many surveys done – Google it or Ask me.

Now here I will give you an example to illustrate my point…

Example:

If you see a web, you know a spider has created it. You see a nest, you know a bird has created it. You walk into a room and you see a telephone, a computer, a television, you know that a human made it. You walk outside, and you see the sun, the moon, the clouds, who created that? We know as humans, we didn't create it, and we know animals and insects didn't create it. If humans didn't create it, that must mean a power greater than a human exists. Whether you want to call it God, Nature, the Universal Spirit, Infinite Intelligence, whatever you call it, it is a power greater than a human. And what is the definition of God we are using? "God is any power greater than a human".

Here is another example:

If you walk into a room, and see such an amazing, beautiful painting, you will most probably say something like this "who is that artist?" ….or…"that must be a great artist" …you are not going to say "Damn, that painting was created itself." Look at Nature, such amazing designs.

Now here is another thing…look at the Universal Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. Now the definition we are using, "God is any power greater than a human"…you could say that since humans didn't create the law of Gravity it is a God, or you can say someone created that. These are the only 2 options left, either that is a God or God created it. This is from a logical point of view. I believe that God created everything. Either way the point was to prove that there is a power greater than a human.

Now some people will say Science is the answer. When does the Qur'an go against Science. It advances science. There are so many scientific things in the Quran dat no person could have known 1400 years ago, just one of the many indications the book is not written by a human. Here is another thing you can think about…..who created SCIENCE?

Science to us….. is just an understanding of how things work. And that science is limited to the human mind, that is why many theories end up being proven false. You didn't create science, science is your understanding of how the things work. You didn't create knowledge, you learn it. You cannot alter knowledge. You discover it. So who created knowledge? Why are humans on the learning end of knowledge? A big hint why there must be a greater power than a human. A power that most people call God, who created knowledge.

We humans are so weak, but don't want to admit it. You don't know what the next minute will bring, you don't know if you will live another day, hell you don't even know how you look like until you look in the mirror.

Some people say that we can't see God, well there are many things you can't see, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. An example: microscopic things. Your eyes could also deceive you, look at a train track, at the end it looks like it will meet, but it never does, it is always parallel.

The Qu'ran mentions that the Bible was indeed a book of God, but it was changed for monetary gains. That is why it has many contradictions now. That is why Qu'ran has been preserved. Qur'an has a falsification test, it wants you to prove that it is wrong, if you could do that, you can end up proving the whole religion wrong. But if you can't, then you should accept it as the truth. I want you to find any error or contradiction in it, and if you do, please send it to me, and I will look into it.

Definiton of God in Qu'ran:

"Say: He is Allah,

The One and Only.

"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.

"He begets not, nor is He begotten.

And there is none like unto Him."

[Al-Qur'an 112:1-4]

Conclusion: There is a power greater than human, call it what you want, God, Higher Power, Nature, Universal Spirit etc.

By the way, the Muslim God, the Christian God, the Jewish God, the Sikh God, and God for every other faith is the one and the same. There is only one God for all of humanity.

Ballet

I just learned Kanye West directed a 35min film called Runaway, which premiered Oct 2010. My cousin had asked me to listen to the song, which is actually the song that accompanies the short film. It's about a jerk who knows he's a jerk so he's asking his girl to "run away as fast as you can". In the song the guy admits he could "have me a good girl, and still be addicted to them hoodrats". The video clip makes me feel like I shouldn't have quit the ballet academy, I gave up at grade 1. It wasn't easy, required alot of time and discipline (you would know if you've watched movies like "Black Swan" and "Ballet Shoes").

Oh well, now I'm just excited about catching a good ballet performance, live. If I get to go to NYC this summer I'd be psyched (if i have to $$$ which I prolly don't) ! Then I'll be able to catch NYC ballet, maybe the Nutcracker, but that's in September, not June *sobs* Or one day maybe the Théâtre Musical de Paris (Théâtre du Châtelet) in France *dreamy eyed*

One of the main courses of the Arab cuisine is soup. Soup is an integral part of the spread, and they have a lot of interesting soups at this restaurant!

Personally I love the breads and rice of the Arabs, and here they have a selection of different rices, from Egyptian rice to Mendy and their very own Al Diafah rice.

And a restaurant that will score points with me is one that serve their meat flavourful and tender, and also one that has a lot of desserts and coffees. Al Diafah scores on the high side for sure :) I had the ginger coffee, mahallabiyah and baklava. Thumbs up!

In my Gender Psychology class, we watched porn...Yes...i bet you're thinking the same thing I am...what the fish. oh well. it was more of a documentary with many porn-ish scenes. The video "price of pleasure" was very alarming, about the adult film industry. Here are some of the points I gathered from watching the film. The film was graphic and very disturbing.

1) The future of pornography is moving towards violence

Yes, I admit...after making so many S&M jokes and after rihanna's influence...i'm thinking it's pretty sexy. Many artist these days are making S&M look okay and acceptable. To name a few, Lady Gaga and Madonna. But what does S&M really stand for?

S&M/Sadomasochism:

-a form of physical role-playing

-The combination of sadism and masochism, in particular the deriving of pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from inflicting or submitting to physical or emotional abuse.

After watching the film, it is not sexy. Gagging, choking, flushing head in toilet bowl, and even using old school legit torture methods: drowning and more.

2) The argument if porn is good or bad?

Pedophilic sex offenders would argue that child porn using kids or pornstars that look really young is good for them to avoid them from creating a crime. But others would argue wouldnt it only enhance their interest?

Would watching porn making you lose interest? What if plain sex scenes just doesnt cut it for you anymore? And you crave for more intense pleasure? Could it get out of control and lead to something bad.

What we have to differentiate is that pornography is a fantasy, and once that film or scene is done. you're back into reality. Not every chick wants to "bang" you and can do those stunts. In reality, "no" means no, literally.

3) You can't compare pornstars to real women.

It means what it means. you just cant.

Does 18SX mean anything anymore? Kids by the age of 10 are already exposed to porn. And it isnt just tiny peep shows like the playboys you find in your daddy's closet 50 years ago. Its full front, penetration pictures...heck...even videos.

So tell me, whats the point of enforcing an 18SX on a movie? These kids see more on the internet anyway. Violence AND sex.

It is the place (for now) for some quiet time in this busy and touristy mall. The coffee is good but the food might take awhile to come. If you don't mind the some dishes arriving later than others, I suggest to inform them so théy can serve what they can first. They have an amazing menu. Since we were there at 9.30pm, we only managed to sample the salzburger nocker and the apple strudel. The coffee was goooood. Abit on the pricey side this place.

Was shopping around World Market the other day, and decided to try something new. Came across this at the counter when I was paying for my tiny random tidbits. Was pretty curious what it would taste like and the cashier was raving about it.

Verdict: It's yummy...tastes like dark chocolate but has a spicy after taste.

Don't worry it isn't really spicy...not the kind of spicy that you'd need to cool your tongue down with ice water...just a light touch. Very interesting...definitely will buy it again.

Oh and if you've never been to the World Market, do check it out. You can find quite a bit of random things from different parts of the world....plus at a cheap price. I found Kinder Bueno wafer chocs. yey!

On pole dancing.

I have this new found respect for strippers. It takes more than looking sexy on a pole, it takes strength, balance and patience. A bunch of girlfriends and I decided to try it out, and on our first lesson...yes there were some poses...but towards the end we had to learn how to spin GRACEFULLY down the pole and CLIMB up the pole. The climbing I swear was like in Boot camp.....Now here's the deal breaker that makes pole dancing a little more trickier... it's done on heels...not just tiny kitten heels...but like full on 6 inch plus heels.

It takes a lot of abs action too...

I always had this different image on pole dancing...more stereotypical. But...that's changed, and I'm now heading out to my next class.... *wink*

I finally got my hands on J.R Ward's Lover Mine story book. While i'm literally orgasming and super excited to read it, I know it's going distract me from assignments...fishsticks.

Of course, I did try to limit myself to at least 2 chapter till I get all my work done...I'm currently in chapter 13. My self control is embarrassing...

I've been following J.R Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, from the very beginning till currently the 8th book (Lovermine.) Thankfully, in March 2011, her 9th book is coming out (Lover Unleashed). And in an recent interview, she doesnt plan in stopping soon.

I've always loved how she managed to create an individual style for each character...Her 6 main characters:

Wrath, Rhage, Zsadist, Phury,Vishous, Tohrment... and as the series continues to grow...other characters come into play...

John/Darius, Blay, Qhuinn, Rehvenge, Xhex, iAm, Trez and more.

In each book, the story of one brother is told...their struggles and torments with their past.

In Lovermine, the story of John and Xhex unfolds. I've always loved their love hate chemistry. John being the soft hearted and kind soul that was turned to stone because of his love for Xhex. And Xhex being a kickass, tough sympath woman...

I guess what I love about this series is the hardship each character goes through...the battle not just physically...but with themselves.The reality of it. Of course, they are of different species, vampire...sympath and the lesser...which only adds on to the whole mumbojumbo going on. It's literally like escaping the real world into a different kind of world....I guess thats how it usually is when reading story books. These books are my version of Harry Potter books, her style of writing is very enticing... and full of emotions...plus, descriptive.

It's definitely doing a good job of keeping my mind distracted...

Sometimes I question my ability to make coherent decisions in life. Especially in relationships, I can't deny I've made so many mistakes in the past. Things I wish I never said or do... I did it.

I always look at these tiny fights my relationships had as the problem, as a bump to go through, a piling burden. Why not look at it as though it was the colorful rainbow sprinkles on an ice-cream swirlie? it only adds on to the flavor right?

I've been craving Greek food ever since I tried it for the first time a year ago....There isnt any greek restaurants in in Kalamazoo...but I finally got what I've been looking for so long when I went down to Ann Arbor for a short trip.

The Saganaki "OPA" flaming cheese (picture above)...is one of the appetizers I've been craving for... It also is one of the things that is most famous. SOOOOO yummy. It's basically cheese thats on a hot plate and the put some lemon on the cheese...and you eat it with bread.

The restaurant was really nice and cozy...The service was great and personal.

If you're ever at Ann Arbor and you're looking for a place to eat...do check it out whenever you get a chance.

The portion for the entree is pretty big, lots of meat of course. The lamb is amazing!

Celebrated 2 of my buddies's birthday last Thursday (born on the same day).

Decided to make them tiny cupcakes...I'm not good at it...but heck. i think it looks pretty cute to me.

The best bakery in Singapore. I bought loaves of cheese toast, dark
choc rye toast, carrot toast and sun dried tomato bagels and spinach
and cheese bun and chicken and vege filled rye bun. Yummm

The burgers are really good here and so are the milkshakes and
rootbeer. The other day I tried their desserts, not too bad! I found
it quite cute they had a dessert burger. I'd recommend the muffin in
whipped cream, perfect if you have a sweet tooth.

Looking for a new series to watch? If you're a True Blood fan, do consider this series.

Sassy asked me to check it out, and I've watched one whole season (13 episodes) and it's pretty interesting.

This Canadian super crime drama is based on a female succubus named Bo (played by Anna Silk) trying to figure out who she is and what she is. Looking for her parents while learning how to control her abilities. She teams up with her human sidekick Kenzie and her loverboy Dyson; who is a sexy hunka lunka werewolf cop I'd do anytime (played by Kristen Holden-Ried) to solve fae mysteries.

One reason why I love this series?

Every series brings about a new type of fae...from werewolves to corpse jumping fae to fuhries (did i spell that right?...to elves and sirens.

I'm hoping this series stays a hit to continue it's second season...because i'm definitely not ready for it to end.

It doesn't have to be easter to get your freak on :)

I love coloring my nails in random colors, inspiration of course from Sassy.

If you're looking for a good brand to start out with, do try China Glaze. It lasts longer and is more durable in comparison to the highly overrated OPI ( although...I do love their colors but they do chip off easily) Another plus plus about China Glaze, is that it is cheaper in comparison to OPI.

Or if China Glaze is just not your cup of tea, try Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear. Yup, this definitely lasts longer and does not chip easily. Plus its the cheapest in comparison to the two other brands. Do bear in mind that the colors offered is of course not as wide as OPI's or China Glaze.

I really like this place. The food is not too bad. Easy to order. I love the "One egg soup" and caesar salad. Their burgers and shoestring fries are quite okay too. Have yet to try their desserts tho. Price is reasonable, SGD15 a meal maybe?

I have yet to name my two schmellytwinks that are my xmas gifts from RL and Cheelim. So cute! Hottie the guinea piggy is from Topshop and in his tummy is a wheat bag gently scented with lavender, that you can take out and heat in the microwave. Then you place it back in his tummy and he will be literally, hot. The Me to You bear is an extremely adorable bear with towel fur which is exactly the kind of bear fur I can tolerate. She's got on this detachable hoodie. She's soft and easy to hug, and is my first Me to You bear.

Okay, enough stuffed toys. Lol. Other xmas gifts I got this year was a very nice towel, some peppermint marshmallow stars and a crabtree and evelyn gift set. Meowzas.

World's largest truck store is in Iowa

So I'm fortunate enough to be able to go on a roadtrip around the West coast of the states...
One of the stops we made was to see the world's largest truck store in iowa..
Its huge. Fitting 3 big trucks in the store itself as an exhibit.
Everything a trucker would need, from story books, jeans to batteries and steering wheels. Not forgeting the ornaments that decorate the interior of the trucks. Literally, pimp my truck.

There's a shower area for truckers to take a shower, barber shop and even a small theatre for them to chill out..

Of course there are a couple of restaurants there and snack food stands....

Everything a trucker might need during a looooongg driveee. :)
